The Gwent County Chess Association (GCCA) is the governing body for chess in Gwent, and is affiliated to the Welsh Chess Union. The GCCA organises competitions, including the Newport and District Chess League and the Gwent Championship, and selects teams to play in Welsh Chess Union inter-county events.

The GCCA also provides grading services for players who are members of the seven affiliated Gwent chess clubs.
